We're new to your neighborhood and we'd love to introduce ourselves! Meet Enzo, Francesco and Emanuele, the masterminds behind Locanda Amalfi, and your newest pizza connoisseurs.




Our Story

Three Italians. One dream. Infinite pizza.


Enzo Rosano grew up in a town just outside of Naples, Italy. His fondest memories of his childhood are centered around his mother’s cooking and the spirited meals he shared with his eight siblings. Mama Carmela’s amazing cooking kept her children close to home throughout their childhood and young adulthood. Today, Enzo has created the perfect local favorite where the spirit of Mama Carmela's cooking is shared with customers from all over the Bay Area. He is the successful owner of two other Bay Area locations, Locanda Ravello and Locanda Positano.


Emanuele Ghirani grew up in the heart of Florence, surrounded by classic Tuscan cuisine and famous red wines like "La bistecca alla Fiorentina" and Brunello di Montalcino.


Francesco Esposito grew up in Naples, and has always had a passion for keeping the traditions of pizza making alive.


In Pizza We Crust

At Locanda Amalfi, we're not just another Italian restaurant who happens to serve pizza. Pizza is a part of our heritage, and our history. We take it seriously so we can share a part of that history with you.


Did you know? In 2017, the art of the Neapolitan 'Pizzaiuolo' (pizza chef) is awarded UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity status, giving this style of pizza even more recognition. And a popular and widely-held belief is that the first "Pizza Margherita" was first created by a Neopolitan pizza maker, Raffaele Esposito on June 11, 1889, to honor the Queen consort of Italy, the Queen Margherita of Savoy. The pizza was garnished with tomatoes, mozzarella and basil, to represent the national colors of Italy: red, white and green.


While our very own Francesco Esposito may not hold any relation to the great pizza maker Raffaele Esposito, we like to think the legend of this Napoletano spirit lives on in the pizza we make here at Locanda Amalfi. Order your very own Pizza Margherita and let us know what you think!
